Terms & Conditions

At Alsomavic Cargo Ltd., we are committed to providing reliable and professional Balikbayan box services. To help ensure a smooth experience for all customers, please read and understand the following Terms & Conditions carefully before using our services.

1. Receipts from Alsomavic Cargo

a) DEPOSIT – All deposits are strictly non-refundable but the deposit will be deducted from the outstanding balance upon collection.

b) Customers must keep the original receipt safely, as it must be returned to Alsomavic Cargo Ltd. upon completion and collection of the box(es).

c) LOST RECEIPT – In cases of a lost receipt, and where no proof of deposit can be provided, the customer will be required to pay the full amount of the box(es).

d) If the original receipt is later found and returned within one (1) year from the date of collection, the customer may be eligible for a deposit refund, subject to verification.

e) UPDATES – For updates or tracking, customers must provide the receipt number so we can promptly locate the box(es).

2. Payment Terms, Storage & Abandone Boxes

a) Full payment must be completed within 30 days from the date of collection.

b) If payment is not completed within 30 days:

          • The box(es) will be placed on HOLD
          • Delivery will be suspended
          • A storage fee of £85 per month will apply

c) If the box(es) remain unpaid and unclaimed after 60 days, they will be considered ABANDONED and may be disposed of or destroyed without further notice.

d) If delivery cannot be completed due to unreachable or incorrect consignee details, it remains the sender’s responsibility to assist in resolving the matter.

3. Box Sizes & Oversize Charges

a) Customers must strictly follow the box size ordered. Example: If a Small (24×20×16) box is ordered, the same size is expected at collection.

b) Oversized or bulky (BUNTIS) boxes will incur an additional charge of £10–£20 per box.

c) Failure to settle oversized charges may result in delays or the box being placed on hold, including upon arrival in the Philippines.

d) Photos and videos displayed below are real examples of boxes charged due to non-compliance with size requirements.

4. Weight Limit

a) There is no official weight limit; however, customers are expected to pack responsibly.

b) Boxes are made of cardboard and travel by sea for several weeks. Items must be securely packed, wrapped, and sealed to reduce the risk of damage.

c) For the health and safety of our collection and delivery teams, the recommended maximum weight is 50kg per box.

5. Allowed & Prohibited Items

a) Only personal, non-commercial items are permitted (e.g. clothing, food items).

b) The following items are strongly discouraged and not covered under liability. DO NOT INCLUDE any:

        • Liquids (shampoo, detergent, lotion, oils, wines and any other liquid items.)
        • Fragile items (glass, plates, frames, vases and any other fragile items)
        • Loose or unprotected electronics
        • Motor or engine parts

c) TVs, microwaves, air fryers, and paintings must be packed in their own separate box or crate. If you still decided to put the items inside the balikbayan boxes and it arrived damage, we will not be liable for any damages incurred

d) If prohibited, liquid, or fragile items are included and arrive damaged, Alsomavic Cargo Ltd. will not be held liable. While we take all necessary precautions to handle your shipments with care, we cannot guarantee that liquids will not leak or that fragile items will remain intact throughout the shipping process

e) Photos and videos shown below are actual examples of damage caused by liquids and fragile items during transit. Regrettably, these packages arrived in a damaged state.

f) Please note, all items are sent at the Sender’s own risk. (PLEASE PACK WITH CARE AND PROPERLY)

6. Changes & Amendments

a) Any change to consignee details must be notified to us within 60 days of collection.

b) Requests made after this period will be subject to an additional charge of £50.

7. Packing List & Declarations

a) A complete and accurate declaration list of all items inside each box must be provided.

b) This declaration should be written on the separate paper attached to the receipt at collection.

c) Incorrect or incomplete declarations may result in customs delays, penalties, or additional charges, which are the responsibility of the sender or consignee.

d) Customers are strongly advised to retain proof of purchase for future reference or claims.

8. Customs, Duties & Inspections

a) All shipments are subject to customs inspection at the destination.

b) Any taxes, duties, penalties, or documentation requirements imposed by customs or government authorities must be settled by the sender or consignee.

b) Shipments may be held by customs until all requirements are fully complied with.

9. Delivery Timeframes & Delays

a) All delivery timeframes provided are estimates only, please allow 3-4 months timeline from UK Port Departure to Manila Port Arrival.

b) Alsomavic Cargo Ltd. is not responsible for delays caused by:

        • Shipping line rerouting
        • Port congestion
        • Customs inspections
        • Weather conditions
        • Other circumstances beyond our control


10. Claims & Complains

a) All claims or complaints must be submitted in writing to alsomavic@aol.com

b) Claims must be made within five (5) days from the date of acceptance or delivery of the parcels.

c) Claims submitted after this period will not be accepted.

d) If missing or tampered items are suspected:

        • Do not allow the delivery team to leave
        • Open the box immediately
        • Itemise contents using the provided declaration list and proof of purchase

e) The shipment of fragile or liquid items, including glass, wine, or any other liquids, is strictly prohibited due to the high risk of damage. Any claims relating to undeclared valuables, electronics, liquids, or fragile items shall be rejected without exception.

 

11. Alsomavic Cargo Liability 

a) All shipments are sent at the sender’s own risk.

b) Alsomavic Cargo Ltd. exercises reasonable care in handling shipments; however, liability applies only in cases where a box is confirmed to be lost or missing while under our responsibility.

c) Damage to contents is NOT covered, particularly when caused by:

        • Improper or insufficient packing
        • Inclusion of liquids, fragile, or prohibited items
        • Normal movement during sea transport and handling

d) Customers are responsible for ensuring that all items are packed securely and appropriately for long-distance sea transport.

e) In the event of a confirmed lost or missing box, the maximum liability is limited to USD $150 (approximately £110) per box, regardless of the value of the contents.

f) No compensation beyond this stated limit will be provided.

12. Updates & Acceptance

a) Alsomavic Cargo Ltd. reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

b) By using our services, customers confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
